September 6-19, LINDO THEATRE PREMIERES “AT ANY PRICE”. Lindo Theatre, 115 S. Chicago Avenue, Freeport. Show Times Vary. The movie, “At Any Price”, filmed locally in DeKalb, will premiere at the Lindo Theatre for a one-week engagement. Starring Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron, “At Any Price” takes a glimpse into the competitive world of modern agriculture. In one of his last reviews, prominent film critic Roger Ebert said the movie “is a great film about an American moral crisis” and awarded it four stars. “At Any Price” follows Henry Whipple, an ambitious man who wants his son, Dean, to follow in his footsteps and expand their family’s Iowa farming empire. However, Dean has a rebellious personality and instead pursues his dream of becoming a professional racecar driver. When an investigation into the business threatens to expose a dangerous secret, the father and son are forced into a crisis that threatens the entire livelihood of the family. Tragedy, family loyalty and betrayal make this film a must-see. Freeport native Ben Marten has a major role in “At Any Price” playing the son of the Whipple’s major competitor and a fierce rival of Zac Efron’s character. Marten has previously acted in the films “Dead Awake” and “American Virgin”. He will introduce the 7:10 p.m. screening on Friday, September 6 as well as the 2:30, 4:50 and 7:10 screenings on Saturday, September 7. He will be available before each of these screenings to sign autographs.
