April 19-22, ASSOCIATION OF LINCOLN PRESENTERS ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Freeport Public Library, 100 E. Douglas Street, Freeport. Thursday: 7 pm to 10 pm; Friday: 8:30 am to 9:30 pm; Saturday: 10 am to 10 pm; Sunday: 8 am to 5 pm. The Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP), a group of people who portray Abraham and Mary Lincoln as well as other historical figures, will hold their annual conference in Freeport. The conference is a time to get together and learn more about not only the Lincolns but mid-nineteenth century life in general. The keynote speaker for the conference will be Dr. James Cornelius, curator of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. The conference will also host various presentations and tours of the Freeport area covering local Civil War era history. It is a great event for anyone interested in history.
