The public is invited to enjoy a potluck supper as well as the program. Find out how invasive plants affect our world and what we can do to manage and prevent their spread in Northwest Illinois. May 12, WOMEN AND THE WILD.Oakdale Nature Preserve, 4433 S. Cranes Grove Road, Freeport. 8 am to 5 pm. This is an all day event with women attending four 1.5 hour hands-on workshops. Workshops include Archery, Bicycle Care & Comfort for Women, Veggie Container Gardening, Old Fashioned Candle Making, The Benefits of Gardening with Natives, All-Terrain Fitness, Native Spring Wildflowers, Self-defense, and Homemade Soft Cheeses.
