November 22-January 10, 2015, 11TH ANNUAL REGIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION. Freeport Art Museum, 121 N. Harlem Avenue, Freeport. Tuesday thru Friday: 10 am to 5 pm; Saturday: Noon to 5 pm. This annual juried exhibition features recent work by contemporary artists from the tri-state region of Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. Created to encourage new work by both established and emerging artists, the show has grown over the past decade to include over 200 submissions. A wide variety of media is accepted from traditional materials such as painting and sculpture to conceptual and new media techniques including video, interactive media, performance and installation art. This year’s exhibition was juried by Theresa Abel, the owner/director of the Artisan Gallery in Paoli, Wisconsin. (815-235-9755)

March 13, 11TH ANNUAL WORLD ARTS FESTIVAL. Freeport High School, 701 W. Moseley, Freeport. 4 pm to 9 pm. Freeport’s Visual Arts classes will sponsor professional commissioned artwork included with the display of student portraits, and various pieces created by students in kindergarten through grade 12. All district bands, choirs and orchestras will perform, including elementary choirs and the elementary physical education dance group. Nearly one-third of the Freeport School District’s students will perform in some capacity.
